Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga uses traditional yoga asanas (postures) that require less of an external effort but have a deep effect, resulting in stretching of connective tissue and opening of pathways to allow flow of energy. To quote Paul Grilley, who had been at the forefront of promoting this practice, "The main differences between a Yin and a Yang (more strenuous and external) Yoga practices are that Yin postures should be done with the muscles relaxed and be held a long time. This is because connective tissue does not stretch like muscles and will not respond well to brief stresses."

The class, instructed by Ronen, includes use of props such as sand bags, belts, bolsters and eye-pillows. Asanas are held 3 to 6 minutes each, using very little, if any, muscle effort. You may feel very relaxed and heavy after the practice; even slightly lightheaded, thus driving back home should be done with extra caution.

Open to all levels, no previous experience necessary.
